January & February 2018 – Writing Ephesians
Happy New Year!
I hope your 2017 was filled with joy and happiness! Looking forward to 2018 and to writing Ephesians, if there is one thing I pray for myself and for you, it is Psalm 119:10-12 —
“I seek you with all my heart; do not let me stray from your commands. I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you. Praise be to you, LORD; teach me your decrees.” Psalm 119:10-12
The Pineapple Porch’s Christmas Writing Scripture 2017 | Writing the Word
It’s the most wonderful time of the year (#itreallyis #ilovechristmas)! I am so excited for this month’s Christmas Writing Scripture I can barely stand it! There are so many beautiful, beautiful things we will discover as we write the Word this month. Although you may have heard and read the Christmas story many times before, I pray we will be struck by the wonder, grace, and miracle of the birth of Christ afresh. Let’s pray that He reveals things in His Word we have never noticed before and that at the end of this month, we will be deeply changed because in this season we dwelled with our Savior, Jesus.
Although this is the busiest time of year for most of us, let’s also make a point to remember Jesus and commit our time to writing out the account of His birth. We owe it all to Him, yet He keeps giving. I know there will be so many gifts to receive as we abide in His Word this month!
Let every heart prepare Him room. Glory to God in the Highest!
(PS – Did you know that you can write the Word with your small group, family or friends? You can also join us in writing on social media by using the hashtag #writingtheword!)

November Writing the Word 2017
How is this already November writing the Word?! I think I say this every month but, YALL, where has the time gone? We are barrelling towards the end of 2017 at lightning speed, but the beautiful thing is, we are taking Scripture with us daily! This month marks 22 months of writing the Word! How incredible! Whether you started writing with us back in February 2016, or this is your first month ever, please just know we love having you apart of this Scripture-writing journey!
Hi there, neighbors! Welcome back to The Pineapple Porch! We are so excited to bring you another great month of Writing the Word! This month we are writing the book of Jonah, and although many people see this mostly as the story of “Jonah and the big fish”, if you look a little deeper you will see a common theme and multiple examples of the incredibly merciful and patient heart of God. So as we walk slowly through this book of the Bible, be on the lookout for how many times God brought others to himself and spared his wayward children – it is truly beautiful.
Also, if you would like to go a little deeper (we couldn’t help the pun) while you’re writing, we highly recommend pairing Priscilla Shirer’s Jonah Bible study or book. You will absolutely love it!
Thank you for joining us on another writing journey! Don’t forget to comment below and let us know if you are writing along with us!
We all know how important it is to continually express our love for our spouse, family, and friends. Simple gestures like a smile, saying, “I love you,” or pointing out something special about someone can mean the world, but how often do we do that for God? Do we make sure to stop and tell Him that we love Him? Do we search Scripture for clues of His character for even more reasons to praise Him? I know I don’t take enough time to do this. So often my prayers are centered around me and my concerns, and I rarely stop to thank Him for who He is to me, how He is working in my life, and what He is doing in the world.
This month we are praising God for who He is. We’re taking time to thank Him for what He has done and for His character. We would love to have you join along, and don’t forget to comment below to let us know if you’re writing along with us!
It’s time for another great month of Writing the Word! Last month we wrote the book of 1 Timothy and this month we will continue our journey through Paul’s letters to his “dear son in the faith”, Timothy (2 Timothy 1:2).
